The Voice of Domestic Workers- Janunary 2023- Ongoing

A portraiture series in collaboration with The Voice of Domestic Workers, a social organization comprising of foreign domestic workers in London. For a significant number of workers, the National Referral Mechanism (NRM) serves as the primary avenue for seeking safety from potential trafficking or enslavement. However, the NRM's requirements demand "objective evidence" of modern slavery, and the combination of this immigration policy with language barriers in understanding legal rights and the system discourages domestic migrant workers from escaping their circumstances. This photo essay highlights the resiliency of these women, within the backdrop of modern slavery, often overlooked and undervalued realm of domestic servitude that persists in one of the world's wealthiest cities.
